Christoudias Spyrou
Clinical Dietician - Nutritionist

Tina now lives in Cyprus with her husband and two young children, but was born and raised as a second generation Greek American in New Jersey, USA. She received her Bachelor’s degree with High Honors in the Nutritional Sciences from Rutgers University, trained at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliated teaching hospital, and received an MBA with a concentration in marketing from the University of Nicosia in Cyprus.

Tina’s personal battle with hypothyroidism is what empowered her to become an advocate for others that suffer with hypothyroid disorders. For years, she struggled with brain fog, fatigue, and weight gain only to find out that the solution to her health was in her kitchen and in her lifestyle. Now, in her own private practice, she is known among her patients as the ‘thyroid dietician’ as she uses a science-based, functional nutrition approach to issues such as hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, and other autoimmune disorders.

Tina is proud of her Greek-Cypriot heritage as well as her American one. Her nutrition advice often comes from a fusion of the two cultures or as how she describes it, “not really Greek, but not really American either”. Living in both countries has given her the ability to adapt easily to challenging circumstances.

It is with this asset that she was able to diversify her career path to mix more natural, holistic, and functional medicine approaches with her clinical nutrition background.

My Nutrilosophy was born with this exact mindset. She was very excited to discover that nutrition not only can prevent disease, but can alleviate symptoms and even reverse certain conditions. Along with her colleagues, Christina and Vanessa, she is passionate about spreading this new philosophy about how nutrition can be a game changer when it comes to chronic disease.

With a background in the performing arts (classically trained soprano, theatre and dance), Tina is very comfortable in front of an audience and frequently gives local nutrition talks and seminars. She has appeared on several television and radio talk shows in Cyprus.

Tina is the author of the book, Tired of Feeling Tired? A Nutrition Solution for Treating Hypothyroid Symptoms. It is a compilation of the latest nutrition research with regards to hypothyroidism. The book is due to be released in the beginning of 2017.
